Full Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst

The senior financial analyst provides consultation and serves as the subject matter expert on financial reporting projects. This role will enhance the ability of internal partners to analyze and respond to key trends. In this role, you will assist with global financial operations, working collaboratively with a range of cross-functional partners to enable strategic decision-making.

You approach projects with a flexible, innovative, service-oriented mindset, and a strong emphasis on system-based solutions. You possess an analytical mind, an ability to communicate complex ideas to senior business leaders, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The senior financial analyst's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating effective business partnerships, managing competing priorities, and providing guidance during unexpected events
  • Evaluating and analyzing revenue, cost, and profit variances against budget, and forecasting to help identify significant trends for response by operations management
  • Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting process including business lines, shared services, and global consolidation
  • Maintaining and developing management reporting including, but not limited to, utilization reporting, profitability by business line/project, and monthly budget review reporting
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations
  • Collecting and analyzing quantitative data to develop relevant reports
  • Working on business operations projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary
  • Assisting with the integration of newly acquired businesses into our current finance structure and processes
  • Partnering with the operations and reporting teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy of global consolidated reports

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years’ experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial concepts
  • Advanced experience in integrated financial systems/software applications (NetSuite a plus) and MS Excel
  • Experience utilizing strong intuitive analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims

  • Occasional travel up to 5% of the time
