Your role

A Nordic practice manager helps support one of Nordic's consultant practice teams. While overseeing the placement of consultant and prospective consultants, you'll need to be a good listener and make it about "we" as you build relationships with those consultants. You'll need to be able to think, act, and adapt with urgency in organizing and prioritizing communication between home office teammates and consultants. Practice Manager

Consulting services practice teams advocate for and build relationships with current and prospective Nordic consultants and oversee consultant hiring, placement, and career development. The Practice Manager is responsible for working with consultants and candidates, the Practice Director, and the consulting services team. The Practice Manager directly oversees consultants and candidates in their practice designation.

Key Responsibilities

The Practice Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Supervising candidates and consultants
  • Interviewing, screening, and recommending consultants for hire
  • Scheduling candidate follow-up interviews and introductions with the Practice Director
  • Recommending the best option of candidates and/or consultants for open opportunities
  • Completing post-client interview follows-up with consultants and candidates
  • Conducting regular consultant check-ins, including reviewing client work, project opportunities, and other topics
  • Determining candidate and consultant interest in new contracts, or consideration of any other position
  • Providing feedback to consultants regarding work performance or other work-related issues
  • Providing direction on career growth and opportunities to make consultants more marketable
  • Determining if consultant is not performing adequately and providing recommendation as to whether a consultant should be terminated from Nordic
  • Completing contract renewals and resume update process as necessary
  • Ensuring adherence to current business processes and participating in process improvement
    initiatives
  • Maintaining up-to-date consultant data and information in Nordic’s customer relationship
    management (CRM) system as necessary
  • Serving as operational backup for Practice Directors and other Practice Managers
  • Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and possibly assisting other corporate initiatives as necessary

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 1-year experience working in healthcare IT industry required; prior experience implementing, training, or supporting Epic software strongly preferred
  • Epic certification or credentialing strongly preferred
  • Experience leading teams strongly preferred
  • Prior healthcare IT consulting experience strongly preferred
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, computers, email, correspondence, and spreadsheets
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting customer service commitments and project timelines
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Local Madison, WI candidates strongly preferred
  • Occasional travel up to 10% of the time or as practice dictates
  • Salary will be based on skills and experience
