Managed Services Lead Automation Developer
The Lead Automation Developer is responsible for passionately leading the execution of the Managed Services automation development strategy. The Lead Automation Developer will work cross-functionally with Managed Services operations, application management services, solutions, and Nordic IT to design automation solutions that contribute to our business strategy and mission, specifically improving upon internal and client-facing Managed Services processes and workflows. The Lead Automation Developer will lead the automation development of these initiatives with a team of developers who together will build, test, and support the automation technologies. They will also be responsible for the management, oversight, and development of automation developers I and II’s.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead Automation Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Leading the growth and strategy of the Managed Services automation initiative
- Managing automation developers I and II’s within the Managed Services automation team
- Working closely with IT teammates, project leaders, internal partners, third-party vendors, and end users to understand and analyze requirements and formulate technical solutions to meet evolving business needs
- Designing, developing, and testing automation workflows while supporting deployments or troubleshooting production issues
- Deploying RPA components including bots, robots, development tools, code repositories, and logging tools
- Supporting the launch and implementation of RPA solutions
- Assuring the quality of the automation through QA processes
- Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes
- Providing internal, ongoing system/technical support to users, including training and maintaining proper system access for all roles
- Developing, documenting, and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data integrity, changes protocols, customization, and usage
- Staying on the cutting edge of platform functionality, new technologies, customization, and integrations
- Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and assisting other corporate initiatives, as needed
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related software development degree, or equivalent work experience required
- 2+ years of management experience or equivalent mentoring experience required
- 3+ years of experience with RPA tools and large cognitive platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, MS Power Automate, etc., is required.
- 5+ years of experience in programming languages (C/C++, Python, VB Script, Ruby, Java, JS, .Net.) preferred
- 2+ years of experience with SQL, FHIR, HL7, and other healthcare interoperability frameworks preferred
- 2+ years of experience developing and implementing projects involving AI (artificial intelligence) and ML (machine learning) is required
- 2+ years of experience developing and consuming APIs is preferred
- 2 + years of experience with Agile development methodology is preferred
- Must be able to design technical specification documents for RPA projects
- Must demonstrate a strong understanding of workflow-based logic
- Strong problem solving/analytical skills and ability to use complex troubleshooting methods
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to a variety of business partners
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting the needs of business partners and project timelines
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the work environment and to alter approach or method to successfully lead change; reacting well under pressure
- Experience working and/or learning in a healthcare environment preferred
- Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
Compensation and Additional Details
- Working in Madison, WI, is not required, but preferred; trips to the Nordic home office in Madison, WI will be expected
- Ability to take on-call rotations outside of core business hours, including nights and weekends
- Travel up to 10% of the time
