Your role

A Nordic Managed Services automation developer I will make it about "we" by working cross-functionally with Managed Services operations, application management services, solutions, and Nordic IT to design automation solutions that improve upon both internal and external processes and workflows. You'll need to act like an owner by playing a key role in executing upon the Managed Services automation initiative. If this sounds like you, here are a couple things you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related software development degree,  or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ year experience in any of the programming languages, such as C/C++, Python, VB Script, Ruby, Java, JS, .Net is required
  • Hands-on experience on RPA tools and large cognitive platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, MS Power Automate, etc., is preferred

Full Job Description

Managed Services Automation Developer I

The Automation Developer I is responsible for contributing to the development of automation tools within Nordic’s Managed Services business line. The Automation Developer I will work cross-functionally with Managed Services operations, application management services, solutions, and Nordic IT to design automation solutions that improve upon internal Managed Services processes and workflows, as well as customer-facing workflows within client systems. They will contribute to the automation development of these initiatives, as well as build, test, and support the automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

The Automation Developer I will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Playing a key role in executing upon the Managed Services automation initiative
  • Working closely with IT teammates, project leaders, internal partners, third party vendors, and end users to understand and analyze requirements and formulate technical solutions to meet evolving business needs
  • Designing, developing, and testing automation workflows while supporting deployments or troubleshooting production issues
  • Deploying RPA components including bots, robots, development tools, code repositories, and logging tools
  • Supporting the launch and implementation of RPA solutions
  • Assuring the quality of the automation through QA processes
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes
  • Providing internal, ongoing system/technical support to users, including training and maintaining proper system access for all roles
  • Adhering to, and ensuring others adhere to policies, procedures and guidelines to secure data integrity, changes protocols, customization, and usage
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of platform functionality, customization, and integrations to support Nordic’s business operations
  • Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and assisting other corporate initiatives, as needed

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related software development degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience on RPA tools and large cognitive platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, MS Power Automate, etc. is preferred
  • 1+ year experience in any of the programming languages, such as C/C++, Python, VB Script, Ruby, Java, JS, .Net is required
  • Experience with SQL, FHIR, HL7, and other healthcare interoperability frameworks preferred
  • Exposure to APIs with 1 year of development experience preferred
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence and machine learning and an understanding of workflow-based logic with 1 year of development experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving/analytical skills and ability to use complex troubleshooting methods
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to a variety of business partners
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting the needs of business partners and project timelines
  • Able to design technical specification documents for RPA projects
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the work environment and to alter approach or method to successfully lead change; reacting well under pressure
  • Experience working and/or learning in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Working in Madison, WI, is not required, but preferred; trips to the Nordic home office in Madison, WI will be expected 
  • Ability to take on-call rotations outside of core business hours, including nights and weekends
  • Travel up to 10% of the time
