Your role

As a member of the IT team, the Modern Workplace Engineer delivers transformational projects leveraging various automation tools, scripting, Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, and existing Nordic systems while ensuring security compliance. This position works with the IT Program Manager and other business partners to formulate and execute the direction and vision for the IT team.

  • 5+ years of professional IT or other relevant experience required
  • 3+ years designing and implementing Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions (Logic Apps, Exchange, Azure Active Directory, Power Automate, Function Apps, Cloud Storage Accounts, and SharePoint)
  • 3+ years integrations and cloud automation experience, including REST, OAuth, SOAP, and common API tools
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript

Modern Workplace Engineer

As a member of the IT team, the Modern Workplace Engineer delivers transformational projects leveraging various automation tools, scripting, Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, and existing Nordic systems while ensuring security compliance. This position works with the IT Program Manager and other business partners to formulate and execute the direction and vision for the IT team.

Key Responsibilities

The Modern Workplace Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Working with both technical and business stakeholders to understand current state, future needs and develop solutions.
  • Working with both technical and business stakeholders to understand current state, future needs and develop solutions.
  • Designing, modeling, and managing Nordic’s enterprise information management systems by influencing and directing build strategy, organization, data structures and conventions, and integration methodology
  • Conducting discovery sessions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Performing requirement analysis, create architectural models, effort estimates
  • Translating complex technical terminology, concepts, and issues in terms understandable to technical and nontechnical management and resources staff
  • Utilizing standards, policies, and best practices designed to facilitate the efficacy, reliability, and security of data in transit and all impacted processes
  • Consulting with other departments and third-party partners to ensure knowledge of and understanding of Nordic’s integrations architecture
  • Collaborating with internal business partners to continually enhance processes and workflows to improve business operations, client and employee experience, and operational efficiency
  • Communicating effectively with all project stakeholders
  • Mentoring and facilitating the growth and development of team members
  • Staying current on the latest technology and solutions related to Microsoft 365, Azure, information architecture, content management and other pertinent technology trends and developments
  • Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of professional IT or other relevant experience required
  • 3+ years designing and implementing Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions (Logic Apps, Exchange, Azure Active Directory, Power Automate, Function Apps, Cloud Storage Accounts, and SharePoint)
  • 3+ years integrations and cloud automation experience, including REST, OAuth, SOAP, and common API tools
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript
  • Broad experience with common enterprise information management systems, such as ECMs, CRMs, ERPs, HCMs, and more
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting customer service commitments and project timelines
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization, as well as with diverse candidates, consultants, and client bases
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the work environment and to alter approach or method to successfully lead change, reacting well under pressure
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
