Your role

A Nordic Microsoft systems analyst provides design, build, testing, and troubleshooting services for the Microsoft cloud native tools used by Nordic. You’ll need to be able to make it about "we" by working closely with the IT team and key business stakeholders across all departments to maintain and improve the Microsoft 365 infrastructure. Full Job Description

Microsoft Systems Analyst

The Microsoft Systems Analyst provides design, build, testing, and troubleshooting services for the Microsoft cloud native tools (SharePoint, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Logic Apps) of Nordic. This position will work closely within the information technology (IT) team and key business stakeholders across all departments to maintain and improve upon the M365 SharePoint infrastructure, Azure Logic Apps, as well as ensure reports are delivered with accuracy and in a timely manner within the Power BI platform. Must be a self-motivated problem solver that believes in continuous improvement and iterative development. Must have the ability to adapt quickly to change.

Key Responsibilities

The Microsoft Systems Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Engaging in strategic planning sessions with the IT leadership and other key business stakeholders to understand business requirements and the purpose of the SharePoint sites and creation of reports
  • Providing consultation and direction around best practices for ETL maintenance, report development, and data visualizations that deliver the desired value to business stakeholders
  • Owning the production data pipelines and warehouse processes
  • Maintaining, designing, building, and deploying Microsoft Logic Apps and Azure Data Factory at Nordic to facilitate data movement across systems
  • Maintaining, designing, building, and deploying integrated BI solutions at Nordic such as end-user dashboards, reports, apps, and other outputs
  • Working with the business intelligence development team to ensure commonality across reporting definitions to ensure various groups of business stakeholders understand the output of reports and visualizations
  • Ensuring quality of reports and visualizations through troubleshooting end-user issues
  • Staying current with industry trends and identifying and researching new technologies to innovate the BI process at Nordic

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Two or more years’ experience in developing in the Microsoft stack toolset (SQL, Azure, Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, Logic Apps, or Azure Data Factory)
  • Experience with other scripting languages (i.e. Python, PowerShell, JavaScript)
  • Experience with analytical tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI is preferred
  • Working knowledge of ETL/ELT and data warehouse design concepts a plus
  • Strong quantitative and/or data analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to seek out, analyze, and solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in an agile or Iiterative development environment is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Position is located at our home office in Madison, WI
  • Occasional travel up to 25% of the time
  • Salary will be based on skills and experience
