Your role

A Nordic Managing Director, Markets - Advisory Services - is responsible for understanding and transforming Nordic's solutions in response to and in anticipation of our client needs. You'll need to make it about "we" by partnering with our client partnerships team to support demand generation and sales, inform solution development and enhancements with business line leaders, as well as increase awareness of Nordic's services and capabilities.

Full Job Description

Managing Director, Markets - Advisory Services

The markets managing director of Advisory Services is responsible for understanding and transforming Nordic’s solutions in response to and in anticipation of our client needs. You understand the healthcare landscape, changing needs of clients, and the healthcare consulting competitive landscape to best position Nordic to drive ideal outcomes. In addition, you will partner with our client partnerships team to support demand generation and sales, inform solution development and enhancements with business line leaders, and increase awareness of Nordic’s services and capabilities with our clients. This position requires you to think, act, and adapt with urgency as you listen to client problems and tailor our solutions to meet their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

The markets managing director will be a member of the leadership team, involved in defining business line strategy and will collaborate with all departments at Nordic to fulfill these functions and ensure success. They will have the following key responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

Market Research and Market Trend Awareness

  • Attending industry webinars, conferences, and other networking opportunities on behalf of Nordic
  • Using research tools, such as industry journals and articles, memberships, and professional databases to understand, identify, and respond to market opportunities
  • Researching and understanding competitor offerings to identify new business opportunities and potential market share for Implementation Services
  • Keeping a watchful eye on healthcare and technology trends and determine how Nordic can respond proactively to those trends
  • Reviewing current and future client’s strategic plans to align Nordic’s solutions with Advisory and client partnerships team members

Marketing and Thought Leadership

  • Partnering with Nordic’s marketing leaders to represent Implementation Services in marketing and communications planning and plan execution
  • Utilizing and growing professional network to help increase awareness of Nordic’s services and capabilities
  • Working with the thought leadership team to develop thought leadership materials that expand Nordic’s advisory brand license
  • Understanding how Nordic’s solutions integrate throughout a client’s journey

Demand Generation and Client Partnership Integration

  • Working with client partnerships team to understand and anticipate client needs
  • Building awareness and representing the breadth and depth of Nordic’s capabilities in our go-to-market activities and branding, including during sales and account strategy conversation
  • Ensuring the complete Nordic offering is presented, focused on client outcomes such as quality of care, improved margin, and execution of corporate strategies (M&A, business transformation, etc.)
  • Partnering with client partnerships to drive Nordic solutions and services beyond IT buying centers

Solution and Service Transformation

  • Providing regular deep-dive sessions with Implementation Services business leaders regarding issues, trends, and recommended solution updates and additions to support creation of new solutions to serve our clients
  • Supporting Implementation Services business leaders in effectively bring new services and solutions to market
  • Evaluating software tools, technology platforms, and strategic partnerships to identify opportunities for Nordic to expand or enhance solutions

Skills and Experience

  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s Maxims
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; master’s degree or clinical experience preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience in healthcare information technology or delivery required
  • 7+ years’ experience as a senior leader of a division or department, including experience leading service-oriented teams within a healthcare, consulting, or healthcare IT vendor organization
  • Experience with healthcare strategic plans in both payer and provider spaces preferred
  • Exhibits strong business acumen, including an understanding of financial metrics and how to support a professional services team in alignment with organizational goals
  • Skilled in conceptualizing both problems and solutions, identifying key impacts, and experience converting concepts into actions in a way that is compelling for clients and actionable by the team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting customer service and employee commitments and project timelines
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization, as well as with diverse candidates, consultants, and client bases
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the work environment and to alter approach or method to successfully lead change, reacting well under pressure 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, CRM technologies, and other collaboration tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time 
  • Salary will be based on skills and experience
