Managing Consultant - Advisory Services - Affiliate
The Managing Consultant will provide consulting services to clients in a project leadership capacity. They’ll work directly with the Epic Implementation, Affiliate, or Training Solutions team to enable sales opportunities, support solution development, and provide exceptional on-site solution delivery based upon the needs of Nordic clients.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Delivery
- Leading projects with a goal of delivering on time, on budget, and with great outcomes
- Monitoring overarching project health, including identifying, mitigating, or escalating issues as needed
- Developing and maintaining detailed project plan, communication plan, and risk/decision trackers
- Defining, managing, and adhering to project scope
- Using, updating, and customizing client and Nordic-provided tools throughout project life cycle
- Creating polished project deliverables and communications
- Presenting with confidence and well-polished demeanor; facilitating executive-level meetings
- Managing meetings effectively, including, but not limited to, preparing agendas and goals, taking notes, and tracking follow ups
- Producing regular status reports, performing project close, gathering lessons learned, and transferring knowledge
Consultant Team Management
- Providing overall project and team direction in collaboration with engagement advisor
- Working with engagement advisor to interview and identify project team members as needed
- Managing, coaching, and mentoring team, resolving conflicts, maintaining positive team morale, and delivering direct and timely feedback based upon project work and performance
Sales Enablement and Solution Development
- Supporting the creation of Nordic solution materials, such as toolkit documentation and proposals
- Discussing client needs with Implementation Services leadership for new solution creation
- Sharing lessons learned and best practices with the Implementation Services team and helping improve our solutions and tools, providing recommendations based on learnings
- Serving as lead advisor or project management consultant resource for client opportunities; working with Implementation Services leadership to build sales presentations and collateral and presenting to client
- Serving as a thought leader for the service line by creating webinars, podcasts, white papers, and blog posts to educate prospective and existing clients
- Taking direction from Nordic home office, including engagement advisor and Implementation Services leadership
- Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- At least one Epic certification preferred, but not required
- 7+ years Epic project management experience required
- Experience with Community Connect, mergers, acquisitions, or other EHR extension or implementation projects or experience with pre- and post-live training programs, curriculum development, training management, or MST oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service attitude and skill set
- Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines and monitor one’s own work product
- Proven ability to thrive in and foster an existing team-oriented culture rooted in respect, high ethics and integrity, teamwork, camaraderie, collaboration, and effective communication
- Solution-oriented; skilled in grasping the essentials in complex situations, anticipating client needs, and conceptualizing both problems and solutions
- Experience in sales or presenting to large groups or key stakeholders preferred
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
Compensation and Additional Details
- Works primarily at client locations, some of which may be in hospitals and medical clinics
- Additional work to be performed in a professional office environment and/or remotely
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time
- Position works a non-traditional schedule; work may be needed on weekends or evenings
