A Nordic IT program manager provides professional project and program management to successfully drive internal initiatives. You'll need to make it about "we" by collaborating with business leaders to support prioritization and broad change management efforts. We're looking for someone who can act like an owner by developing, managing, and adjusting project plans based on scope, timelines, and cost implications. Full Job Description

IT Program Manager

The IT program manager provides professional project and program management to successfully drive internal initiatives. This role collaborates with business leaders to support prioritization and broad change management efforts. Additionally, this role may help refine internal program management processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities

The IT program manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Leading a group of analysts to support IT leadership and other business leaders in developing and prioritizing the roadmap for internal initiatives
  • Publishing an annual program management plan and roadmap aligned to the broader company and IT strategies
  • Producing a weekly update to be provided to Nordic leadership detailing the status of projects
  • Serving as the central point of contact to oversee all phases of projects, including initiation, planning and execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing
  • Developing, managing, and adjusting project plans based on scope, timeline, and cost implications
  • Aligning and scheduling resources with the required skillsets for each of the tasks in a work breakdown schedule and tracking each to completion
  • Communicating effectively with all project stakeholders, including preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information
  • Escalating key issues and risks and providing recommendations to facilitate decision making
  • Assisting other departments in facilitating change management once projects become operational or are considered in maintenance mode, including evaluating and acting on issues or enhancement suggestions
  • Developing and following processes (e.g., prioritization, software development life cycle, change management, release cycles) as well as utilizing project management tools
  • Mentoring others on project management practices and providing guidance to Nordic employees who are interested in pursuing project management training or certification
  • Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and assisting other corporate initiatives as necessary

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of project management experience involving multiple business units and IT required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) membership encouraged
  • Track record of success driving waterfall- and agile-based projects
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment  
  • Aptitude to acclimate quickly to new project assignments and adapt to new working environments
  • Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and SharePoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to adapt communication styles and strategies to the audience 
  • Knowledge of ITIL

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Remote work is authorized for this position
  • Travel up to 30% may be required and will vary month to month
  • Position may require evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines on occasion
  • Salary will be based on skills and experience
