Your role

A Nordic director of talent is responsible for leading and enhancing the effectiveness of the talent acquisition as well as talent and leadership development functions across Nordic's global enterprise. You'll need to make it about "we" and partner closely with leaders and departments across the organization to support rapid growth, new talent capabilities, and learning solutions that align with Nordic's business priorities. In addition, you'll have to act like an owner by leading and inspiring a team of professionals to ensure Nordic is attracting and developing a team of talented individuals.   • Seven or more years of experience in talent acquisition, training and organizational development, or human resources
  • Three or more years' related human resources leadership experience required
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with diverse candidates

Director - Talent (Talent Acquisition and Development)

The Director of Talent is responsible for leading and enhancing the effectiveness of the talent acquisition as well as talent and leadership development functions across Nordic’s global enterprise. In this role, you’ll develop robust partnerships with functional leaders to support rapid growth, new talent capabilities, and learning solutions in alignment with Nordic’s business priorities. You’re a strategic people leader who is experienced in leading and inspiring a team of professionals to ensure Nordic’s enterprise is attracting and developing a team of talented individuals. This role is ideal for an ambitious candidate- and employee-experience advocate who has experience fostering a well-admired brand and building relationships and programs to attract diverse candidates to an aggressively growing organization. You’ll have ideated, developed, and implemented employee and leadership development solutions that grow skills to advance an organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Director - Talent will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

  • Working directly with departmental and functional leadership to participate, implement, and oversee the strategic direction and vision for talent acquisition, talent development, and leadership development functions within Nordic’s global enterprise
  • Defining, developing, delivering, and coaching to talent acquisition strategies that attract a diverse network of candidates, such as: campus and community relationships and programs, job marketing strategies, and proactive sourcing techniques
  • Advancing capabilities of Nordic’s employees and leaders through the ideation, development, and implementation of learning programs internally developed and externally partnered that create high-impact skills growth
  • Partnering with business leaders, as well as talent and human resources partners, to drive talent and leadership development strategies within the business
  • Defining and managing team performance metrics, working closely with other teams to ensure success, building candidate pipelines, growing leaders, and optimizing team performance
  • Partnering with human resources teammates in devising solutions to support leadership to empower our organization to make impactful talent decisions
  • Partnering with other departmental leaders to ensure sufficient volume and quality of pipeline, as well as to identify efficiencies between departments
  • Developing and maturing Nordic’s employment brand and continuing to find new avenues for candidate engagement, while working to uphold and strengthen Nordic’s corporate culture
  • Acting as a liaison for leadership-level candidates in order to effectively facilitate communication with hiring teams and maintaining relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Serving as a champion and subject matter expert for technologies that facilitate the candidate and employee experience, such as: ATS, LMS, HCM/HRIS, e-learning and assessment tools
  • Developing plans inter-department and intra-company to ensure scalability of processes, procedures, and technology with a focus on results, profitability, and health for the company
  • Advising on merger and acquisition talent acquisition and learning solutions requirements and resources
  • Identifying and maintaining strategic relationships with professional organizations and the community to aid in achieving business goals
  • Providing oversight to vendor partners that need to serve as an extension of Nordic in the services they provide
  • Researching recruiting and industry-related topics and seeking professional development by attending seminars, tradeshows, and other pertinent events to help grow the business and stay abreast of the latest trends, technology, regulations, and news
  • Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and assisting in other corporate initiatives as necessary

Skills and Experience

  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years’ experience in talent acquisition, training and organizational development, or human resources; high-volume, fast-paced recruitment experience strongly preferred
  • 3+ years’ related human resources leadership experience required
  • Proven experience translating business plans into learning and development strategies
  • Experience building entry-level/campus recruitment programs preferred
  • Experience using HCM (human capital management) or ATS (applicant tracking) systems required; experience implementing systems strongly preferred and Workday knowledge a plus
  • Mergers and acquisition and international exposure a plus
  • Excellent organization, detail orientation, time management, and communication skills to balance multiple priorities and expected results
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts through effective collaboration by seeking mutually beneficial outcomes while providing thoughtful and well-reasoned opinions and feedback
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization as well as with diverse candidates
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the work environment and to alter approach or method to successfully lead change
  • Advanced experience with the Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as LinkedIn, ATS, and job board posting technologies

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Travel up to 10% of the time
  • Open to remote individuals willing to travel to Nordic’s corporate office as needed
  • Salary will be based on skills and experience
