Your role

A Nordic Director - Advisory Services - Epic Implementation is an experienced Epic implementation leader. You have intimate knowledge of how to implement Epic and other EHRs effectively, what critical issues can arise, and how to best mitigate them to ensure the most successful implementation for your client and the best experience for their end users. Your focus will be enabling sales opportunities, supporting solution development, and providing exceptional solution delivery to our clients by ensuring the success of our onsite consultant teams.

This position requires you to think creatively as you listen to client problems and tailor our solutions to meet their unique needs. This may mean building a solution for a client who is beginning their Epic implementation journey, supporting a client changing their lab system to Beaker, or completing a strategic planning roadmap or TCO analysis to support future decision-making. You’ll be responsible for ensuring successful delivery of our services through our consultant teams, building relationships across our client and consultant teams, monitoring project success, and mitigating risks. You’ll also be responsible for creating new tools for our consultant leaders in the field, building and updating solution offerings, serving as a thought leader through content creation, and mentoring and managing team members.

Director - Advisory Services - Epic Implementation

The Director, Epic Implementation - Advisory Services is responsible for directing, planning, and developing advisory solutions projects at Nordic. They will maintain responsibilities for solution development, sales enablement, solution team management, and delivery oversight relating to assigned projects. The Director, Epic Implementation - Advisory Services ensures the success of projects, serving as the key business line liaison to both clients and consultants, monitoring the progress of the project, providing oversight, education and guidance, and performing client-facing work as needed. 

Key Responsibilities

The Director, Epic Implementation - Advisory Services will have the following key responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing, mentoring, and developing solutions team staff; making solution-specific hiring decisions as solution and Nordic growth dictates
  • Partnering with Advisory Services leadership to support the overall performance of the service line; supporting service line vision and initiatives, establishing goals, and reporting achievement progress
  • Overseeing and participating in ensuring project success, including building strong client and consultant relationships, completing regular client and consultant check-ins, reviewing status reports, providing recommendations and best practices, and identifying and mitigating project risks
  • Acting as point of escalation for project team and client; performing services directly for clients as necessary
  • Supporting pre-sales scoping and solution design activities in close partnership with internal sales and solutions teams, including the creation of customized sales presentations, messaging, and content
  • Serving as a thought leader for the service line by creating webcasts, podcasts, white papers, and blog posts to educate prospective and existing clients
  • Researching healthcare-related topics and continued learning by attending seminars, tradeshows, and other pertinent events to help grow the business and ensuring new learnings are incorporated into standard methodology and strategy
  • Staying abreast of the latest technology, regulations, and news relating to healthcare IT, continuously evaluating market for opportunities that supersede competitors’ products
  • Overseeing product development, creation, and refinement while ensuring the strength of product offerings
  • Educating clients and consultants on Advisory Services offerings, including teaching internal Nordic classes
  • Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare IT required; experience with multiple EHRs preferred
  • 5+ years of Epic implementation experience required in a director or project management role
  • Experience implementing in academic and pediatric healthcare systems preferred
  • 3+ years of direct staff management experience preferred
  • Epic certification preferred
  • Direct experience working for Epic preferred
  • Prior experience and understanding of Epic’s install methodologies required
  • Experience leading service-oriented teams, scaling appropriately to successfully manage growth required
  • Able to positively influence and engage consultants and clients, generating interest and enthusiasm for the service line
  • Solution-oriented; skilled in grasping the essentials in complex situations, anticipating client needs, and conceptualizing both problems and solutions
  • Strong customer service attitude and skillset
  • Strong understanding of software and software implementation services required
  • Proven ability in time management with strong attention to detail
  • Experienced in talking comfortably with individuals at all levels of an organization in groups or individually and with C-suite and senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and other collaboration tools, including virtual meeting and cloud technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Relocation to Madison, WI, is not required, however, regular trips to the Nordic corporate office will be expected

  • Travel up to 50% of the time, including travel outside of regular work hours
