Business Intelligence Developer
The business intelligence developer provides design, build, testing, and troubleshooting services for the analytic tools of Nordic. This position will work closely with the IT team and key business stakeholders across all departments to maintain and improve reporting services infrastructure and ensure reports are delivered accurately and in a timely manner. Must have proven ability to tell stories with data and create visualizations that allow all levels of the organization to make effective and efficient decisions. Must be a self-motivated problem-solver that believes in continuous improvement and iterative development. Must exhibit the ability to adapt quickly to change.
Key Responsibilities
The business intelligence developer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Engaging in strategic planning sessions with the application development manager and other key business stakeholders to understand business requirements and the purpose of the creation of reports

Providing consultation and direction around best practices for report development and data visualizations that deliver the desired value to business stakeholders

Owning the data pipeline and warehouse process by combining data from various sources

Developing commonality across reporting definitions to ensure various groups of business stakeholders understand the output of reports and visualizations

Designing, building, and deploying integrated BI solutions at Nordic such as end-user dashboards, reports, apps, and other outputs

Ability to interpret and summarize the results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way

Ensuring quality of reports and visualizations through troubleshooting end user issues

Staying current with industry trends, identifying and researching new technologies to innovate the BI process at Nordic

Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and possibly assisting other corporate initiatives as necessary
Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

1 to 3 years of experience in developing in the Microsoft BI toolset (SQL, Azure, Power BI, Excel)

Experience with other scripting languages (i.e. Python, PowerShell, JavaScript)

Experience with analytical tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI is preferred

Working knowledge of ETL/ELT and data warehouse design concepts is a plus

Strong quantitative and data analysis skills

Demonstrated ability to seek out, analyze, and solve problems

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience in an agile or iterative development environment is preferred

Compensation and Additional Detail
- Occasional travel up to 5 percent of the time
