Your role

A Nordic business development specialist is a critical part of the Client Partnerships team and will use available tools, systems, and databases to create and execute a prospecting plan to identify sales leads and secure appointments for account director teammates. In addition, you'll need to make it about "we" by collaborating with marketing to organize email, newsletter, and other sales campaigns. If this sounds like you, here's what you'll need:

Business Development Specialist - Cerner Solutions

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service through the course of day-to-day support and coordination of sales and marketing activities. This position is a critical part of the Client Partnerships team and serves as the primary central point of lead generation, prospecting campaigns, and relationship building in the spirit of Nordic’s maxims.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Specialist's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
  • Utilizing available tools, systems, and databases to create prospecting (cold calling) plan
  • Executing prospecting plan to identify sales leads and secure appointments for account director teammates
  • Working closely with account directors and account executives on prospecting plan and specific targets
  • Collaborating with marketing team to organize email, newsletter, and other sales campaigns
  • Adhering to internal documentation guidelines to track and maintain client leads, client communications, and client contacts in CRM
  • Creating, developing and cultivating prospect relationships so when a need arises, they come to Nordic
  • Actively participating as essential member of the team, supporting efficiency and team goals
  • Attending Nordic functions, vendor conferences and user meetings, and community networking events as requested
  • Working on business operations projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis, and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested
  • Working to continually improve processes and workflows to improve client experience, generate efficiencies, and achieve cost savings
  • Continually educating in all Nordic offerings to enable productive conversations with all types of prospects

Skills and Experience

  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in sales, account management, or customer service required
  • 2-3+ years’ experience with cold calling or client prospecting experience
  • Knowledge of healthcare IT industry required
  • Demonstrated success in customer service or account management
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM technologies, and marketing automation tools
  • Experience utilizing a strong customer service attitude and skill set
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Able to work well under pressure and within time constraints
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Position may be located in Nordic’s home office in Madison, WI or in a professional, home office setting
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Must be accessible and available to perform work functions at any time, including nights and weekends as needed
  • Salary will be based on skills and experience
