Your role

The Nordic administrative contract specialist works with our corporate counsel on a wide variety of tasks. We’re looking for someone who is detail oriented and will act like an owner to draft and review contract terms. You'll need to do what's right, researching applicable laws and regulations. You'll need to think, act, adapt with urgency and prepare corporate documents and compliance-oriented filings. If this sounds like you, here are a few things you’ll need:

Administrative Contract Specialist

The administrative contract specialist works directly with our corporate counsel and performs a wide range of duties including drafting and reviewing contract terms, researching applicable laws and regulations, preparing corporate documents and compliance-oriented filings, and providing administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

The administrative contract specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Reviewing, revising, and negotiating contract terms

  • Preparing contracts, corporate documents, and other documentation

  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers

  • Assisting in process improvements and other projects that enhance and streamline contracting processes, systems, and tools

  • Researching regulations to ensure contracts are updated and in compliance with laws; performing data research

  • Tracking contract-related correspondence and deadlines

  • Keeping organized electronic files and providing administrative support

  • Assisting with compliance-related tasks

  • Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and possibly assisting in other initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role, such as experience in contract administration, contract negotiation, or legal support

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • In-depth knowledge of contract documents, contract terms, and processes

  • Understanding of market-related issues, contract development, and negotiation

  • Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt quickly to new work environments

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines

  • Understanding of basic financial concepts

  • Strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism

  • Experience working with confidential material

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, computers, email, correspondence, and spreadsheets
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims

Compensation and Additional Details

  • Position is located at our home office in Madison, WI
  • Occasional travel up to five percent of the time
  • Salary will be based on skills and experience
