#NordicGivesBack [4-min. recap]

Last week over 140 Nordic consultants and home office team members participated in Nordic’s Community Giveback Week. We’re thankful that we had the opportunity to volunteer with 10 organizations across the U.S. and serve a combined 385 hours last week. As one Nordic team member said, "It's fun to take a break from day-to-day work to do something special for others."

UnitedWay_ReneeMoe_1-1.jpgWe kicked off the week with the state of Madison address by United Way of Dane County CEO Renee Moe. Renee shared more insight into the impact we can make in our communities. After her address, we enjoyed lunch catered by Culinary Creations Catering, a food service employer for individuals who have overcome significant life barriers. You can learn more about our time with Renee here.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we decided to spread the love across the country. We spent time giving back in Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Read on, then watch a brief summary video below.

Boston – Hale Barnard House

The Hale House assisted living facility in Boston welcomed us for a night of bingo, karaoke, and bouquet-making.

Chicago – Breakthrough

We got our hands dirty in Chicago volunteering at Breakthrough. The women’s center was in need of some upgrades, so our team worked alongside Breakthrough staff to paint and clean the facility.

Los Angeles - Midnight Mission

In LA, we hosted a BBQ and game night with the children at The Midnight Mission’s transitional housing facility. (For privacy, we avoided photographing the children.)

Madison

We rounded out the week giving back in Madison by partnering with six organizations across Dane County: Badger Honor Flight, Center for Families, Habitat for Humanity, Oakwood Village Retirement Community, Second Harvest Foodbank, and YWCA Madison.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to our communities. Participants described the week as "inspiring, fulfilling, therapeutic, and amazing."

We don’t want the giving to stop here. If you didn’t have a chance to participate, and still want to give, contact events@nordiciw.com to learn more.

Here's a 2-min recap video.
