Prepare for a successful season with EHR spring training

By Scott Gierman, Nordic Marketing Team

As pitchers and catchers report to sun-soaked baseball diamonds in Arizona and Florida this week, there is no greater time of the year for optimism among baseball fans than the start of spring training. While the summer ahead will be filled with long nights and some degree of heartbreak for even the most successful teams, spring is a time for hope and thinking about how great things could be in the coming year.

Spring-Training

Have you considered a sort of spring training for your next EHR endeavor? Whether you are implementing a new system, optimizing your current system or extending it to affiliate sites, before all the work on the project starts, there is a great opportunity to inspire your team and paint a vision of just how great healthcare delivery can be with the well-thought-out use of your EHR.

EHR spring training is also a great time to consider your goals, plan for the season and set out a strategy for how to deal with the upcoming challenges of the year. It’s a time that new teammates meet one another for the first time and determine what their role will be in making the season a success.

As your project starts, there will inevitably be setbacks, and there will be times of frustration. But great leaders know how to best keep that feeling of spring optimism alive by focusing on victories and learning from defeats.

Once the daily grind of the project begins, it’s the organizations that made the right moves to put together the right team that are able to maintain that optimism throughout the year. Last year, the San Francisco Giants lost 74 games, the most ever by a World Series champion. But every setback was temporary and none of them stopped them from being remembered as the most successful team that year.
