Nordic named one of nation's best companies for women

Madison, Wis. – For the second year in a row, Nordic has been ranked as one of the top 50 large companies across North America for women by Comparably, a leading workplace culture and compensation monitoring site. Over 60,000 U.S. companies were eligible for the list, which was compiled from anonymous feedback submitted by current employees over the past 12 months. Nordic is ranked No. 38 on this year’s list, joining the company of Google, CVS Health, Microsoft, and Amazon.

In a year full of pivoting, Nordic’s appearance on this list speaks to the continued support that the company has been able to give to all of its employees, especially women, during the COVID-19 pandemic. By providing the proper tools to enable a rapid shift to remote work and supporting flexible work schedules, Nordic has ensured that its female employees, encompassing 54% of its workforce, experience a balance between work and life. The healthcare consulting firm also strongly emphasizes professional development, providing ample opportunities for growth and leadership among its female workforce.

“Nordic has provided a work culture that not only supports women IrinaBrault_2016_smallin whatever stage of life they may be in, but offers professional development and leadership opportunities to elevate our careers,” states Corporate Counsel and Privacy Officer Irina Brault. Brault is currently leading Nordic’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, which includes the development of employee resource groups and the formation of an internal Council for Inclusive Excellence. Brault says, “The COVID-19 pandemic has affected working mothers more than ever this year, but having an employer that has understood and accommodated the challenges we have faced has made all the difference.”

“The Best Companies for Women understand the importance of having an inclusive culture for all in the workplace,” said Comparably CEO Jason Nazar. “Female employees rated Nordic as one of the best places to work in 2020 for its collaborative culture and career growth opportunities, commending the company's commitment to providing a more diverse and inclusive environment.”

In just over 10 years of existence, Nordic has received more than 25 workplace awards from nine different publications. Nordic was recently included on Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare list, as it has been for six of the last seven years. Since 2018, Nordic has also been recognized by Comparably for the Best Company for Work-Life Balance, Best Professional Development, Best Company Culture, Best CEO for Diversity, Best Company Leadership, Best Company Outlook, and Best CEO.
