A message from CEO Jim Costanzo

In response to the injustice that has led to protests across the nation, Nordic CEO Jim Costanzo sent the following message to all Nordic employees.

Team Nordic,

Over the last few months, we have worked hard to keep you informed as we navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, today, I feel compelled to reach out to you about a very different topic: like many of you, I am feeling anger and frustration over the murder of George Floyd. I have a heavy heart for the individuals and communities directly and indirectly impacted by George Floyd’s death and the many other people who have been attacked and killed due to racism over the years. For human beings to be treated with such appalling inhumanity is unacceptable.

During these troubling times, I want to make it clear that we, at Nordic, have no tolerance for racism, hatred or violence towards each other. While Nordic alone cannot fix social injustice, we can make sure you feel safe and supported. We believe in creating a culture that celebrates our differences and unites us. One that allows us each freedom to act, to be treated with dignity, and instills hope that together we can do more. By doing so, we are providing opportunities for each of us to have the means to improve our homes and communities.

If you need support during these times, reach out to your manager, teammates, Human Resources, or any of us in leadership. Whether you need a few days away to process everything that’s going on or if we can help you get out of an unsafe situation, please let us know and we will do whatever we can to help. I also want to remind all of you of our Diversity and Inclusion page — please spend some time looking through the resources here if you haven’t already and let’s all commit to growing ourselves and eradicating any biases we may have.

We live in a world where many of you feel you don’t have a voice or a fair chance. I want you to know that we stand with you and are here to listen, understand, and support you. Together, let’s bring about peaceful, persistent, and productive action to renew our communities and those we serve.

With gratitude and appreciation,
